who always tried to bring more joy than they received
What is the Freefall Foundation?
We at the Free-Fall Foundation are committed to sharing the sky with those who can’t afford the cost of skydiving.
As skydivers we have realized the amazing potential of our sport to enrich our lives and turn the edges of life we once feared falling over into the wonderful balconies we enjoy today.Anyone who has skydived experiences an indescribable feeling when they hit the air that we believe everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy.
It’s with this in mind that our Founder Matt Blank started the Free-Fall Foundation to gift free tandems and skydiving instruction to those who are interested, but can’t afford to skydive.
To take advantage of the foundation either apply for a skydive or nominate someone you know that you think is a good fit on our application page. Once we receive an application we look to see if we have the resources to help and if so will contact you to line up a skydive with a known skydiving school near you. From there it’s all up to you to show up and have fun.
Our instruction originated in Southern California at Perris Valley Skydiving Center and is growing to include many drop zones around the world as far as South Africa.
The foundation consists of a large network of professional skydiving instructors around the world who are donating their time and expertise.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Matt Blank grew up in Southern California skateboarding by day and racing BMX by night. Most mornings he spent at the beach surfing or bodyboarding before school, always with an eye on the weather in case he needed to skip out early to hit the coast.
After high school Matt worked his way through the University of California Irvine as a rock climbing instructor and while finishing his degree in psychology and social behavior with a minor in film, worked technical rope and cave search and rescue for the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.
After college Matt’s attentions shifted to snowboarding, skydiving and B.A.S.E jumping. He instructed freestyle and all mountain snowboarding for Vail Corp. and still instructs skydiving at Perris Valley Skydiving Center. In the more recent years he has jumped from one extreme community to the next pursuing his ultimate goal of collaborating with other like-minded extreme athletes to create projects that inspire others to overcome their fears and get out into the wild. His motto remains the Blank family creed “We’re going to the top and taking anyone who wants to go with us”.
He holds the following ratings for Skydiving
• Accelerated Free Fall Instructor/Evaluator
• Tandem Master
• Instructor Assisted Deployment Instructor
• Static Line Instructor
• Camera Flyer
• Wingsuit Coach
• Professional Rating (allows for the jumping into off-drop-zone locations such as stadiums and work on commercial projects)
• B.A.S.E certification number 1412
